Have you considered playing?

You can start at any age. (OK, maybe this is a bit too young.)

Dress rules have changed over the years. Pink Charity Day.

We’re a pretty casual mob.

A wide range of casual attire and uniforms are now an accepted part of the game.

How do I start?

Free coaching is offered as well as free use of Club Bowls. Come and see if you like it by having a roll up with one of our members. If you like it, continue with coaching. If you don’t, thanks for taking the time to see if it was for you.

News for Members

Christmas Party and Presentations

Sunday 13th December has been the date selected for the men's Christmas Party and Presentation. The location and format will be the same as 2014.

Guide Dog Charity Day

Sunday 27th September has been set aside as the day on which proceeds will be donated to the Queensland Guide Dogs.

Playing the Game – Returning the Jack

President John has requested that, in all games of bowls played at the Club, the jack is returned by the skip when it goes out of bounds on the initial delivery. This is the penalty we pay when a jack is incorrectly delivered. If we’re going to play bowls, let’s play according to the Laws of Bowls on all occasions.

Cancer Charity Day

The Cancer Charity Day led to a donation of $200 being donated to the Qld Fund. We thank everyone for supporting the day.

Club Shade Pergolas

At the last Committee meeting it was resolved to retain one shade pergola and offer the remaining pergolas to Club members for purchase by tender. If you are interested please place your details and the purchase price offered in an envelope and give it to the Treasurer, Harry Kidd by the 1st October.

Club Uniform

The Committee has reaffirmed the Club Policy that the Club uniform must be worn in all Club competitions.

Bowls for Sale

If you have bowls for sale let President John know and he can place the details on the Club web pages.

Barefoot Bowls Games & Functions

Not a bowler but looking for something different to celebrate a special occasion or workplace functions?

Consider a game of barefoot bowls at Brothers Bundaberg Bowls Club.

Cost per player is $7 per head and we can accommodate from 4 to 112 players at any one time. Ten minutes after your arrival you will be playing a fun game of bowls. Be as serious or as casual as you like.

We provide a safe environment, Club bowls, sun screen and a brief introduction. You provide feet in smooth soled shoes or thongs or socks; a hat and enthusiasm.

The bowling greens are a licensed area and a full range of beverages can be obtained from the various bars within Brothers Sports Club.

Need some food or nibblies?  Brothers Sports Club Bistro or the White China Restaurant is available for meals or Brothers Sports Club can provide platters of finger food and /or nibblies. Contact Brothers Sports Club Function Coordinator regarding the range of food options available and the cost.

Alternatively, our Bowls Club can organise a BBQ or sausage sizzle. Contact our Secretary, Noel Seale, to check availability of playing days and BBQ costs.

A class of adult students and their tutors from Bundaberg Campus, Wide Bay TAFE took a break from their English language studies recently to try a morning of barefoot bowls.

After a brief introduction (and getting over the shock it wasn’t ten pin bowling) they were set free on the greens.

Notice the immaculate stance and delivery (I think we’ve found a natural).

Is this a potential Commonwealth gamer?

The verdict is in. It’s OK.

By the way, following a previous visit, a Russian student wrote a letter of “thank you” and suggested we got bowls that went straight as it would make the game much easier.
